#LoveSummer: His and Her Packing List for a Beach Vacation

1 Mins read

As you may know, last September we got hitched! What you may not know, was that our Honeymoon was washed away with Hurricane Odile when it devastated Cabo San Lucas, 10 days before we were supposed to leave last year. So we had to shift our plans and ended up in Martha’s Vineyard for the week. It turned out to be fantastic.

However, we wanted to get out to Cabo, so we found a carve out in the summer between our work schedules. We’re labeling this trip ‘Honeymoon 2.0’ and as this post launches, we’re sitting on a beautiful beach in Cabo sipping on some margaritas.

I love packing, but Fatima and I are the worst packers; we over-pack. While that’s not necessarily a bad thing, it makes our luggage over-stuffed and heavy. Let’s face it, I’ll be carrying most of it, so I urge us to pack lite. So what does one pack for a week-long trip to a beach location? Here are our His and Her packing lists for a #beachweek vacation.

Creating a 10-Year Anniversary Photo Album: A Sentimental Gift

3 Mins read
To celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary, we treated ourselves to a summer vacation on Martha’s Vineyard. However, I wanted to get another little something for Fatima. We have a big gallery wall and some photos around the house, but not many photo albums. I thought maybe I could design an anniversary photo album that captured the last ten years of our time together, our travels, and our kids. I went to my go-to printing service, mpix, to design a book.

10 Years Later: Revisiting Our Wedding Registry & Modern Must-Haves

Oh the Wedding Registry. Over the last 10 years, things have changed. When we started the registry, we built it with practicality at the foundation. While we were building our registry at Macy’s and Bed Bath and Beyond (RIP and hello again), we were encouraged to “throw everything we could scan on there”.  I went to locate our registries to remind myself what we selected, but they’ve been lost to the internet coffins. Not to fear! I can figure out most of our registry by looking around the house.

Rediscovering Our Wedding: Developing Film Rolls 10 Years Later

2 Mins read
For the kids at our wedding, we put together these little fun bags. We included a scavenger hunt and a disposable camera. We thought it would give the kids fun thing to do and help us capture some moments during the reception. We never developed those film rolls until very recently.
