Last night, was my family’s annual Toys for Tots collection party! Our community collected 5,579 toys for kids in New Haven County! We were joined by the New Haven Marines. For those of you not familiar with Toys for Tots, the foundation is a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve program.
The last few years, the collection party has been held at Gaetano’s Tavern on Main. Great food, great drinks, and music from Arlene! Santa made an appearance, escorted by the Wallingford PD!
We couldn’t have done it without the help of our community of volunteers and local businesses. Every year, this unique group of community members come together to support families in our county. We all have much to be proud of. The toys filled up the 7 ton convoy and a giant Haul truck!
In addition to collections for kids, my sister initiated a drive for the local animal shelters. Many of our furry friends will be helped this year!
