May the Fourth be with you! To celebrate Star Wars Day, we made Disney’s Dole Whip! It was the perfect weekend to try this recipe out. After weekends of damp and cold weather, this weekend was much needed (which challenged social distancing).
We had a feeling it would be difficult to take a walk around the neighborhood with a toddler who refuses to wear a mask. So we took early morning walks on both Saturday and Sunday. Our toddler solution: a rain cover on the stroller. But we can’t do that all the time, he needs to be able to walk in the fresh air. So the morning walks keep us sane and get him outside. We had to run to the store in the afternoon and unsurprisingly, the streets were crowded. Not really a lot of masks and little-to-know social distancing. But back to Dole Whip.
Disney’s secret recipe will forever remain a secret. Yes, they published their recipes for park favorites, however, unless you have a really great ice cream dispenser that keeps this cold and creamy, you won’t get the full experience, about 90% there. I will say this transported me to Magic Kingdom. It was the perfect treat to have this weekend.
One day we’ll get to go back to Disney World, but until then, we’ll just have to enjoy Dole Whip from our own homes and rewatch Episode IX. Have you tried the recipe?
