Vendor Spotlight: Bourassa Catering

1 Mins read

When planning your wedding, vendors are key. Finding the right vendor can be tricky. Since our wedding took place in my hometown, we went with local vendors. Our second vendor we locked down, was Bourassa Catering.

Our Wedding reception was taking place on my parent’s lawn. Thus, we needed a vendor that would be able to work with more than one vendor. It’s important to inquire if one of your vendors works with other vendors or if they have recommendations they can give. Bourassa’s Catering worked with other vendors to provide the tent, tables, chairs, plates, dance floor, and pretty much everything else.

Bob wanted to meet us first. He said he liked to interview the couples and get to know them. We liked that. It showed us he was invested and wanted to work with good clients. From the beginning, we were open with our budget. Taking our likes and budget into consideration, they drew up a proposed plan and estimate.

They were fantastic. They were great about making adjustments with our updates. When making our budget, Fatima and I left a contingency in place in the event things ended up being more expensive then they were quoted. Bourassa Catering’s quotes for the other vendors we were working with were so close to the actuals – this made us happy. The last thing we would have wanted was for the actuals to come in way over budget.

On the day of the event, the entire team was helpful and friendly to everyone. This made our day that much easier by having one less thing to worry about.

Creating a 10-Year Anniversary Photo Album: A Sentimental Gift

3 Mins read
To celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary, we treated ourselves to a summer vacation on Martha’s Vineyard. However, I wanted to get another little something for Fatima. We have a big gallery wall and some photos around the house, but not many photo albums. I thought maybe I could design an anniversary photo album that captured the last ten years of our time together, our travels, and our kids. I went to my go-to printing service, mpix, to design a book.

10 Years Later: Revisiting Our Wedding Registry & Modern Must-Haves

Oh the Wedding Registry. Over the last 10 years, things have changed. When we started the registry, we built it with practicality at the foundation. While we were building our registry at Macy’s and Bed Bath and Beyond (RIP and hello again), we were encouraged to “throw everything we could scan on there”.  I went to locate our registries to remind myself what we selected, but they’ve been lost to the internet coffins. Not to fear! I can figure out most of our registry by looking around the house.

Rediscovering Our Wedding: Developing Film Rolls 10 Years Later

For the kids at our wedding, we put together these little fun bags. We included a scavenger hunt and a disposable camera. We thought it would give the kids fun thing to do and help us capture some moments during the reception. We never developed those film rolls until very recently.
