Summer is right around the corner. Thinking about what to do this summer, we’re overwhelmed. There’s so much to do in New York City! However, the summer weather is unpredictable. One day it will be beautiful and the next it will rain. We’re here to help you with some options. Here are some of our favorite things to do in New York City, rain or shine.
Rain or Shine: There are so many things to do in New York City this summer!
Rain: American Museum of Natural History
Shine: Bronx Zoo
When it comes to museums, New York City has no shortage. And the zoo? One of our favorites. You should definitely plan a trip to the Bronx Zoo if you’ve never been. We took our niece and nephew there a few weeks ago. They were in awe. But if the weather causes an issue, make a trip to the Museum of Natural History. This was our rainy day activity two summers ago. It really is the best!
Rain: Big Daddy’s Brunch
Shine: Mother Burger Brunch
It’s kind of hard to mess up brunch. Sweet and Savory dishes paired with your favorite alcoholic beverages. Make a trip to one of Big Daddy’s few locations around the city. This retro-themed diner has some of the best savory food paired with some great mimosas. A great place to chill and enjoy brunch on a rainy day. But if the sun decides to shine, you must go to Mother Burger for brunch. It’s fantastic. If you see us, say hello!
When you’re outside, don’t forget the sunblock!
Rain: Escape the Room
Shine: Coney Island
When you’re in the mood for fun and games, you have to check out Escape the Room. We’ve done this a few times and loved it! But if you can take advantage of a gorgeous day, you have to check out Coney Island. If you’ve never been, you have to experience it at least once in your life.
Rain: Wine & Pizza Class
Shine: Movies/Picnic in the Park
A few New Year’s Eves ago, we took a wine and pizza making class through NY Vintners. It was phenomenal. However, head to Central Park for a movie night or setup your own picnic! We did.
Rain: Salvation Taco
Shine: Salvation Taco’s Roof Deck
You can’t go wrong here, rain or shine. Salvation Taco is fantastic. Strong margaritas and delicious food. When you put your name in for a table, make sure you give your name for space on the roof. This way, you get to eat first before heading up to the roof. We’ve been on the roof in rain and shine, it’s worth it.
