Garden Thyme: Halloween Beer Garden

With winter on the way, that can mean one thing – most of my garden has been harvested! The only things I have left are my brussel sprouts and kale. They love cold weather and should be ready for harvest just in time for Thanksgiving!

At our annual Marquis Monster Mash, I wanted to offer another fresh experience to our guests. Since the garden was just sitting empty, waiting to be prepped for winter, I threw down some hay, strung up some lights, and setup a beer garden for the party. We asked guests to BYO beers of all kinds. We setup a tasting station to try out each other’s beers, played pong, and jammed out in the crisp autumn air.

Beer Pong

Everyone seemed to love the idea of the beer garden and it was a fun spot to check out throughout the night. Playing pong in the beer garden was a great way to get people to rotate into the garden and the tastings brought everyone in at least once. It was a great way to try out some new beers and seasonal favorites. I really liked the Roadsmary’s Baby my mom brought. When we got cold, we had two options: 1.) Run over to the bon fire to warm up or 2.) try out more beer!
