Welp, we missed last year’s 10-year Blogiversary. But it’s never too late to celebrate, right? It’s been more than a decade of blogging for us. So much has happened for us over the last 11 years and we are so thankful for your support.
Six thousand photos, seven hundred blog posts, two name changes, several logo iterations, five different kitchens, and three podcast series later, Lilies and Loafers continues to be our passion project. We love sharing our cooking and baking adventures, and more recently some of our parenting journey, with you. And it’s you, our readers, who we have to thank for keeping us coming back to the blog.
What makes us different from a lot of blogs out there, is this space is truly a passion project. We have done sponsorships and we have advertising and affiliate links to reduce our operating expenses. When sponsorships were knocking on the door, they weren’t worth our time or yours. We made a conscientious decision early on to not let sponsorships drive our content decisions nor let those sponsorships take over the blog. And we would only do sponsorships if we loved the product. Instead, we rely on very limited (if any) sponsorships, blog advertisements, and affiliate links to keep the lights on for the blog.
Would we love to quit our jobs and do this full time? Maybe, but our day jobs are watching, so officially the answer is ‘no’ 😉. What keeps this going is our passion for cooking and photography. For now, it works best as our passion project.
