Brian and Liam’s Newborn Photo Shoot

1 Mins read

I love my maternity photos. If Brian didn’t push me to do this shoot, I don’t know if I would have these photos to look back at. I wanted to return the favor and give Brian a photo shoot with Liam. We planned on a simple newborn photo shoot anyways, so it was easy to get this together.

Tips for a Newborn Photo Shoot

  • Best time for a newborn photo shoot is when the baby is 5-10 days old. This gives the baby enough time to get used to the new world and still not get too much bigger than when they left the hospital.
  • However, you should always get pictures in the hospital if you want them.
  • Make sure the baby feeds right before. You want them in a milk haze so they’ll be manageable during the shoot.
  • Put the baby’s needs first. If they need to be changed, change them. Hungry? Feed them. Happy baby = happy pictures. Don’t push a baby through a session.
  • Have a few extra outfits on hand.
  • Speak up when it comes to you and the baby’s poses. Do what is natural to you.

I enjoyed taking these photos and bossing Brian around for once. It was fun to watch him hold his tongue once I was in charge of the shoot. I can’t wait to do more of these!
