The fun part about pulling together our own space, was pulling together our own space. We had so much fun planning our wedding together. Our goal was to bring all the people we loved in one place to celebrate our wedding. At the end of the day, as long as we were happy together, that’s all that mattered. We had so many Wedding DIY projects. Here’s a round up of almost everything!
One way we were able to save money, was to create our own wedding venue on my parents’ property. There alone, we saved the cost of having to pay a venue fee. From there, we had to conceptualize the space, and decide how we were going to bring our reception space together. In order to do this, we had to do some Wedding DIY.
Since our reception was outside, we organized cocktail hour to be outside of the tent. Our patio and surrounding grass areas had seating, food, and the photo booth. Here’s a photoset of everything we built, crafted (minus the invitations/thank yous), and bought to bring the space together.

Rather than paying $80 for a birdcage offline, Fatima created hers for $15 – including the stylish, bedazzled comb that kept it in place.
