Christmas Party Boxes

The holidays this year will be very different for almost every family around the world. While we won’t be able to fill our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day up with family gatherings IRL, we rallied around some creative ideas to keep us engaged and connected. My aunt thought it would be fun to put together Christmas party boxes to drop off at each family. These Christmas party boxes were filled with some goodies for everyone to enjoy.

Our plan was to have two Zoom parties on Christmas Eve; one for kids at 6pm and a later one for adults only at 10pm. Leading up to Christmas Eve, we asked each family to bake 6+ dozen cookies to add to boxes and be distributed to each house attending the Zoom parties. Meanwhile, my aunt and I (mostly her) gathered some other goodies to fill up the boxes. I was responsible for the cozy socks, jumbles, and games.

Another one of my Christmas-loving aunts and retired nurse, gave us these jumbles at last year’s Christmas party. They were fun to guess. I swapped out a few songs for some more modern ones 🙂 We also played a round of Jeopardy! using a game I created in Google slides.

While our party plans had to adjust this year, we did not let it dampen our Christmas spirit. Can we do Christmas over Zoom always?
