After making the blackberry smash two ways, I was inspired to try this with a margarita. So I’m making a blackberry margarita two ways! Same purée as the other and one muddled.
I made this video back to back with the whisky smash. By the time I got to the margarita, I was feeling tipsy, haha! Not sure if I should be doing these back to back shoots anymore. Needless to say, these were all really good. You’ll get a slightly different taste with each one and I wanted to see which one I liked more.

I always use silver or blanco tequila when I’m making a margarita. You do you, but I recommend going silver for when you’re mixing in fruit for that lighter, more refreshing finish.
To make puréed blackberries, just throw a package of blackberries into a blender and blend until smooth. You’ll need to use a strainer to sort out the seeds, but the purée will give the drink a deeper, blackberry flavor. You’ll still need to strain the drink with the muddled blackberries, but the preparation is while you’re making the drink.
