Today I was in the mood for a margarita, but with an autumn twist. Something spiced and refreshing. There was a sangria we made a few years ago that I loved. It had apples, pears, and cinnamon. I wanted everything in that, but in a margarita. I ran to the grocery store, picked up some apple cider and pear juice, returned home, and shook up an autumn margarita.
Like the majority of my shaken margaritas, we follow this simple recipe. When you want to add flavor, all you need to do is layer in juices, spices, and occasionally, flavored simple syrup.
Autumn Margarita
Why is this the perfect margarita for autumn? Apples, pears, and a dash of cinnamon.
Autumn Margarita
Ingredients
- 1 shot (1.5oz) silver tequila
- 1 shot (1.5oz) triple sec
- 1 shot (1.5oz) pear juice
- 1 shot (1.5oz) apple cider
- Splash of lime juice
- Dash of cinnamon
Instructions
Fill shaker with ice.
Add all ingredients into a shaker. When adding lime juice, start with a few splashes. I used about less than a shot's worth. For the cinnamon, I added a few dashes into the shaker. Add more as needed.
Shake until the shaker is cold!
Pour over ice.
Optional: rim the glass with cinnamon sugar.
