Autumn is my favorite season. Apple picking is fun, pumpkin picking is way better, but I’m mostly there for those apple cider donuts. I’m making apple cider cocktails two ways! We have a delicious autumn margarita, but I wanted to put another spin on it and try to use similar ingredients with two different liquors.
A margarita is my go-to drink and one of my most requested cocktails when we’re hosting. The base recipe is so easy to adapt to other drinks, everything else just becomes additive to the cocktail. So I’m going to share a margarita and one with whisky.

When I pick up a jug of apple cider, I’m not drinking it straight up. It’s either being boiled down to put into a baked good or mixed into a cocktail. This year, as soon I saw apple cider at the farmer’s market, I snatched one up. I haven’t done a baked good yet, it’s all been used for cocktails!
I could eat apple cider donuts year round. However, stepping away from them for 10 months of the year makes them that much more special. I haven’t fully mastered an apple cider donut, but these New England Apple Cider Donuts are really good.
Anytime I make an apple cider cocktail, I always pair with cinnamon, and that’s what we’ll be using today.
