Umm…yum! This was one of those pins that blew up on Pinterest (from The Beauty Thesis). You know the ones; you see them every single day on every person’s board. No? Maybe I’m the only Pinterest troll. I wanted to see what the hype was about. This smoothie was said to give you lots of energy and make you feel good – that’s why I wanted to try it. I’ve tried way too many green smoothies that tasted like crap, so I’ve been looking for something yummier and sweeter.
I heard that when you go on a juice cleanse or “juicing” you’re supposed to have 2 veggies for every fruit or 3 veggies for every fruit – something like that. This one is just the opposite. Your only vegetable is the spinach. However, it’s delicious.
I felt great from the first sip. I had lots of energy throughout the day, and was able to drink this rather quickly. Too many green smoothies have taken me over an hour to try to sip down – nasty. But this one was great!
Sweet Green Smoothie
- 1 apple
- 1 banana
- 1 cup of greek yogurt
- 5 strawberries – I threw in some cranberries, too
- ½ and orange
- Cut up all of your fruits so your blender won’t go into overtime trying to crush everything.
- Add in all ingredients except for your yogurt (My blender had a slow time getting started.
- Once blended thoroughly, add in your yogurt.
- Blend until combined.
