DIY Spring Flower Arrangement

I love flowers. They make me happy. They also make the space they fill brighter and happier, too. When it comes to gifts, I am a very simple person. Gift me flowers. For Valentine’s this year, Brian gave me a homemade spring flower arrangement.

When we first started dating, Brian sent me a beautiful bouquet of Peruvian (alstroemeria) lilies to my dorm. They were gorgeous. I swear, they lasted for two weeks.

On our nine year anniversary last week, I walked into our apartment to Brian making this Mediterranean shrimp dish and a homemade bouquet sitting in the middle of the island. Now that we’re curbing our spending in anticipation of the baby, he decided to make the bouquet, all for under $30.

Using Tammy’s tips, he used yellow Peruvian lilies, white tulips, purple tulips, and white waxflowers. This bouquet was oozing all the spring vibes. It brought me so much happiness to see them blooming in the sun. While the lilies are still going strong, I had to remove the tulips yesterday.

Brian said, he had a little trouble with this spring flower arrangement. After watching me make the Galentine’s bouquet, he thought it would be easy peasy. Not sure he’ll be trying this again, but he always surprises me!
