Description
A fun, holiday activity to make and enjoy with the family.
Ingredients
Scale
- Half-sphere molds – the 2.5″ diameter molds worked the best
- Ghirardelli melting chocolate – white or dark and the same or opposite for decoration
- 2 Tbsp per bomb of Ghirardelli hot chocolate mix – use your favorite!
- Mini marshmallows
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate according to the instructions.
- Spoon melted chocolate into the sphere molds and brush around so there’s a thin, but sturdy layer.
- Pop the molds in the freezer for about 5 minutes or until the shells have hardened.
- Spoon additional melted chocolate to plug up any holes and create a sturdy edge.
- Remove the shells from the molds and pair up each half sphere.
- In one of the spheres for each bomb, spoon in 2 tablespoons of hot chocolate mix. Use 2 tablespoons of mix per sphere.
- Top off with marshmallows.
- Use the empty spheres and lightly touch the edges to remaining melted chocolate. Quickly place on top of one of the spheres filled with cocoa mix and marshmallows. Repeat until all bombs have been assembled.
- Place in the fridge to harden and seal the spheres.
- Melt additional chocolate or use alternate-colored chocolate (i.e. if bombs are dark chocolate use white chocolate).
- Drizzle the chocolate over each bomb for a finished look.
- Garnish with toasted marshmallows, chocolate chips, festive sprinkles, or your favorite candy.
- Add a bomb to a mug and pour boiled water or extremely hot milk over the bomb and watch it melt.
- Give it a quick stir and enjoy!
