Ingredients
- 1/2 pound of Large Shrimp
- 1 tbsp. of Olive oil
Breading
- 12 Saltine unsalted crackers
- 2 tbsp. of flour
- 1/2 tsp of cayenne
- 1/2 tsp of parsley
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp of garlic powder
- 1 Large egg
Garlic Sauce
- 1/3 cup of honey
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1/3 cup of water
- 1 tbsp. of cornstarch
- 2 tbsp. of soy sauce
Instructions
- First peel, devein, and clean your raw shrimp.
- In a small bowl, beat your egg and in another small bowl combine and crush your crackers then add in flour, cayenne pepper, parsley, salt and garlic powder.
- One by one, dip your cleaned shrimp into the egg and shake off any excess, then coat you shrimp in the cracker and flour mixture.
- Set the shrimp aside on a plate and repeat with the reminding shrimp.
- In a medium pan heat a tablespoon of olive oil on medium high heat. Once the oil is hot place your shrimp in, cook for about a couple of minutes on each side or until shrimp is done. The shrimp will turn pink once it’s done.
- In a small sauce pan, add honey, garlic, and soy sauce on medium heat.
- In a small bowl, mix the 1/3 cup of water and cornstarch together and add to the honey mixture. This water mixture allows the honey sauce to thicken and become a glaze. Be sure to stir consistently and keep an eye on it so that it doesn’t burn.
- Once the sauce turns to a glaze remove the pan from the heat.
- Add shrimp to a bowl and slowly add about ½ of the honey sauce and toss gently. Then add the remaining honey sauce. Depending on how saucy you want the shrimp you can decide to use less.
- Serve with our fried rice or plain white/brown and enjoy!
