My Son’s Paw Patrol Party Inspiration
My son Blair requested a Paw Patrol-theme for his birthday. Since he’s not a fan of sprinkles or colorful frosting, I needed a way to decorate his vanilla cake. Using his Paw Patrol figures as cake toppers was the perfect solution! I even created a little “construction zone” scene on the cake with Rubble “sneaking” a piece – it was a huge hit!
Supplies You’ll Need for Your DIY Paw Patrol Cake Toppers:
Lilies and Loafers has affiliate relationships, so we may get a small share of revenue from your purchases. Items are sold by the retailer, not by Lilies and Loafers.
- Paw Patrol figures (give them a good cleaning)
- Construction paper or cardstock (for the hats)
- Mini pom-poms
- Tape
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
How to Make the Paw Patrol Party Hats:
- Create a Stencil: Cut out a stencil from paper or cardstock. The stencil should resemble a wide triangle with a curved bottom edge and a small inward notch at the top. This notch will form the pointy top of the hat.
- Trace and Cut: Trace the stencil onto your chosen construction paper or cardstock and cut out as many hat shapes as you need.
- Roll and Secure: Roll each hat shape into a cone, using the inward notch to create the point. Tape the seam to secure the hat.
- Add the Pom-Pom: Glue a mini pom-pom to the top of each hat.
- Test the Fit: Place the hats on the Paw Patrol figures to check the fit and adjust if necessary.
- Glue the Hats: Once you’re happy with the fit, carefully glue the hats to the figures using hot glue.
Tips and Variations
- Use different colored paper: Choose colors that match each pup’s uniform.
- Add other decorations: You could add other small details to the hats, such as glitter or stickers.
- Create a cake scene: Use frosting, sprinkles, or other edible decorations to create a scene on the cake, like a construction zone for Rubble or a grassy field for Chase.
- Use for other characters: I made these party hats for Animals, Cars, and Spider-Man
These DIY Paw Patrol cake toppers are a fun and easy way to make your child’s Paw Patrol party extra special. They’re sure to be a hit with all the little pups!
