Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate the season of love than with a fun, heartwarming craft? I’m so excited to share this super cute and easy project with you: DIY Care Bear Valentines! These adorable little guys are perfect for kids of all ages to make for their special someone – whether it’s a parent, grandparent, friend, or even a teacher.

DIY Care Bear Valentines

These DIY Care Bear Valentines are not only a blast to make, but they also a great activity for your little ones. Think about it: getting creative is a fantastic way for kids to express themselves and explore their imaginations. It boosts their confidence and allows them to communicate their feelings in a unique and personal way. Plus, all that gluing, cutting, and sticking helps develop their fine motor skills – which are essential for everything from writing to getting dressed!

My kids loved being able to customize their bears through different amounts of crepe paper, different color hearts, and misplaced eyes 🙂 And the best part about a DIY Valentine? You probably already have most of the supplies in your craft drawer! Let’s get started!

  • Red construction paper
  • Pink foam sheet
  • Red glitter foam sheet (or any red glitter paper)
  • Googly eyes
  • Black marker

Step-by-Step Guide to Making DIY Care Bear Valentines

  1. First, cut 40 1 inch crepe paper squares from red, pink, and white crepe paper streamers.
  2. Spread a generous amount of glue all over your paper plate.
  3. Now, start sticking those colorful crepe paper squares onto the glue. Mix and match the reds, pinks, and whites to create your own unique design. Don’t be afraid to get messy!
  4. Once your plate is covered in crepe paper, glue on those googly eyes. Give your DIY Care Bear Valentine some personality!
  5. Cut a large circle out of red construction paper and glue it to the center of the paper plate. This is the main part of your bear’s face.
  6. Next, cut out two medium-sized ovals from pink construction paper for the ears and glue them to the top of the plate. These will make your bear extra cute!
  7. Time for some sparkle on your Care Bear Valentines! Cut two small hearts from the red glitter foam (or any red glitter paper) and glue them to the center of each pink ear.
  8. Cut a medium-sized heart from the pink foam sheet and stick it to the center of the red circle, towards the top third of the circle. This is the nose for your DIY Care Bear Valentine!
  9. Finally, use your black marker to draw a cute little mouth starting from the bottom of the pink heart nose.
