Yesterday we celebrated our second wedding anniversary! And what better cocktail to celebrate with, than these Champagne Margaritas?

Fatima and I met eight years ago when we were students at Hofstra University. The rest is history. And here we are celebrating a wedding anniversary! I can’t believe how fast these last two years have flown by since our wedding.

In our photos, we used a souvenir margarita glass we got while on our [second] honeymoon in Cabo. About a week before our wedding, a hurricane devastated Los Cabos and the surrounding areas. So we diverted our honeymoon to Martha’s Vineyard, where we spent a much needed, relaxing week exploring the island. The following year, we were able to get out to Cabo and soak up the sun!

[recipe title=”Champagne Margaritas” servings=”1″ time=”5 minutes” difficulty=”easy” image=”https://liliesandloafers.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/IMG_9375.jpg”] [recipe-ingredients]
  • 1 shot tequila
  • 2 tbsp triple sec
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 3 shots champagne
  • Ice for shaking
  • Ice for the glass
[/recipe-ingredients] [recipe-directions]
  1. Add all ingredients (except for champagne) into a shaker.
  2. Fill with ice.
  3. Shake 10 times. Do this too much and it’ll be too watery.
  4. Pour over ice and garnish with a lime.
  5. Add in champagne, a shot or as much as you want!

These champagne margaritas are just margaritas on the rocks with a splash of champagne. Adding in the champagne gives the margarita a hint of fizz and brightens up the cocktail. These would be perfect for our next brunch. Let us know what you think!
