Autumn Margarita

1 Mins read

Alright, margarita aficionados and fall flavor fanatics, gather ’round! Today I was in the mood for a margarita, but with an autumn twist. An autumn margarita a seasonal twist on a classic cocktail that’s guaranteed to warm your soul as the leaves turn golden.

Autumn Margarita

You know that feeling when the crisp autumn air hits, and you crave something both refreshing and cozy? That’s exactly where this autumn margarita recipe comes in. Forget the summer-centric citrus blast; I’m embracing the rich, spiced notes of fall fruits, creating a drink that’s perfect for fireside chats, harvest gatherings, or simply unwinding after a long day of raking leaves. There was a sangria we made a few years ago that I loved. It had apples, pears, and cinnamon. I wanted everything in that, but in a margarita. I ran to the grocery store, picked up some apple cider and pear juice, returned home, and shook up an autumn margarita.

Why the Autumn Margarita is Your New Fall Favorite

Let’s break down why this isn’t just another margarita recipe. It’s a carefully crafted experience.

  • Seasonal Sensations: The core of our autumn margarita lies in the harmonious blend of apple cider and pear juice. These aren’t just fillers; they’re the stars, bringing natural sweetness and a depth of flavor that resonates with the season.
  • Spiced Elegance: A dash of cinnamon elevates the drink, adding a warm, aromatic layer that complements the fruit. It’s the subtle spice that makes this margarita distinct.
  • Balance is Key: Like any great margarita, our autumn margarita maintains a perfect balance of sweet, tart, and boozy. The lime juice cuts through the sweetness, while the tequila and triple sec provide the classic margarita backbone.
  • Versatility: This recipe is a fantastic base. Feel free to experiment! Want a smokier note? Add a splash of mezcal. Craving more spice? Infuse your tequila with cinnamon sticks or star anise.

Like the majority of my shaken margaritas, we follow this simple recipe. When you want to add flavor, all you need to do is layer in juices, spices, and occasionally, flavored simple syrup.

Description

An autumn twist on a classic margarita.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 shot (1.5oz) silver tequila
  • 1 shot (1.5oz) triple sec
  • 1 shot (1.5oz) pear juice
  • 1 shot (1.5oz) apple cider
  • Splash of lime juice
  • Dash of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Fill shaker with ice.
  2. Add all ingredients into a shaker. When adding lime juice, start with a few splashes. I used about less than a shot’s worth. For the cinnamon, I added a few dashes into the shaker. Add more as needed.
  3. Shake until the shaker is cold!
  4. Pour over ice.
  5. Optional: rim the glass with cinnamon sugar.
