I’m not from Massachusetts, this is a WICKED (movie/musical) themed craft! Well–just in the colors haha! My kids were off from school so we spent all day reading, riding our scooters, and working on some crafts. One of those crafts was this fluffy cloud slime!
I am not a fan of typical slime. It’s so sticky, and the consistency is not for me. Cloud slime is much fluffier and more appealing. My kids had so much fun making the cloud slime, and it kept them busy for hours after it was made. A few days later, we made MORE cloud slime!
What makes this WICKED slime? The colors – we made green and pink.
What is Cloud Slime?
It has a fluffier mass than typical slime. It’s still a little sticky, and has more fluff and air to it than your typical slime.

Sure, you can buy a kit and make it that way, or just buy slime already made. OR you can make a whole activity out of it. The total cost for this project was $11.56. Since the shaving cream and the contact solution yields more per bottle, the cost per cloud slime is only $1.94! The glue is the only thing where you’ll need a whole 4oz bottle every time you make slime.
- 4oz bottle of Glue = 99 cents per 4oz bottle
- 2 tbsp (1oz) Contact Solution = $6.99 per 24oz (30 cents per 1oz)
- 2 cups of Shaving cream = $2.59 per 10.5oz can (65 cents per 2 cups)
- 1 drop of food coloring – I did not include the food coloring because the box of food coloring I have is used for cakes and cookies. I probably wouldn’t buy food coloring just for the project unless you can find a cheap alternative.
For playing with the slime, I contained the fun to our slime-safe activity table. Make sure you avoid fabrics, like your couch and carpets. My kids did get a lot of slime on their shirts. I pretreated the shirts with some Dawn dish soap and let them sit in warm water, before washing them. The slime came out like it was never there.
My kids played with the slime for half the day. They had so much fun with it and I hope you have as much fun as we did!
Fluffy Cloud Slime
Cloud slime is fun to make and even more fun to play with! It's fluffy, stretchy, and jiggly.
Ingredients
- 4oz bottle of Glue
- 2 tbsp Contact Solution
- 2 cups of unscented shaving cream
- 1 drop of food coloring—optional
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, dump in 4oz of glue.
If using food coloring, add in a drop or two now. Stir until combined. One drop goes a long way and the color will continue to get richer the more you play with it.
Add in 2 tbsp of contact solution and stir.
Add 2 cups of shaving cream and stir until you can no longer stir.
At this point, you need to knead the slime until it becomes less sticky.
Have fun!
Notes
If you want to add color, food coloring is optional. We made green, pink, and purple. Green and pink combined and eventually morphed into a light blue/pale gray color.
