Once again, I found myself trying to get rid of extra buttermilk. I went back to my list of buttermilk recipes, but I didn’t feel inspired. I wanted to try something new. I perused Pinterest and stumbled on this farmhouse buttermilk cake recipe and knew I needed to try it! Just stop reading and click the previous link to look at the recipe!
I was stressing about something and this looked like the perfect thing to sink my feelings into. Baking is so therapeutic for me, and the more involved a recipe is, the better I feel after making it. Did I mention we had banana bread again last month??
Farmhouse Buttermilk Cake
This tastes exactly how it looks: warm, moist, gooey, hint of autumn from the spices, and it leaves you with the lingering desire for another slide. I’m not a huge fan of nuts in my baked goods and will only tolerate them in a very select few desserts including this one.
It’s not a very complicated recipe and it’s one that I will be making again this autumn. I tried my best to capture it’s deliciousness in this photo shoot.
