Rose Gold Margarita

1 Mins read

It’s been a minute since we added a new margarita to our line up. We have Disney to thank for that. Yes, you read that right. We’re fresh off a Disney vacation and we cannot stop thinking about the rose gold margaritas we were sipping poolside at the Polynesian Resort.

Overall, the food in Disney was meh. There were a few hits, but otherwise, it was not a great selection. However, we found a spot at our resort where the food and drinks were great. The Oasis Pool Bar had some refreshing lunch options and tasty cocktails. One in particular was a rose gold margarita: guava, notes of mango, and a sugar rim. On our final night, we stopped by Oasis for a final meal and toasted to a wonderful vacation with these margs.

Making the Rose Gold Margarita

After that last margarita, all I could think about was, “How can I make this at home.” Within forty-eight hours of landing in New York, Fatima and I were concocting a rose gold margarita of our own. Mango juice was easy to find. Guava juice was a little more difficult. All we could find was nectar, but I think that was the better choice. Had we found juice, I think it may have been a little too thick.

Using water, I wanted to get the right color consistency. As I was mixing, I realized we needed a lot more guava than mango, and not a lot of each of them. So both should fit right into a shot glass, if that. The guava nectar is really sweet, so feel free to use a lower amount.

The proper name for this margarita is really, ‘rose gold sunset’. Once you pour the mango juice in the guava nectar, you really see that sunset come to life.
