Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake

It’s almost been a month since Brian’s birthday and I really want to make this cake again.  It was so addicting!


Brian loves peanut butter, chocolate, cake, M&M’s, and pretty much anything with sugar in it.  I found this peanut butter cake recipe (posted by Dulce Dough) on a friend’s Facebook wall and knew it would the perfect cake for Brian!

Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake

Cake Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 squares (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate, melted

Frosting Ingredients:

  • 2 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 – 4 tablespoons milk
  • 6 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (Just used the miniatures)
  • 1 package Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Miniatures
