Peanut Butter Blossoms are a timeless cookie that has been enjoyed by generations. They’re easy to make and require no fancy ingredients, making them a perfect recipe for beginner bakers.
One of my favorite flavors, as you are well aware, is peanut butter. What better way to celebrate the holidays than to mix peanut butter and chocolate? These peanut butter blossoms are really easy to make *cue eye rolls* trust me, they are! Remember when I made those pumpkin truffles? All you’ll need is a bag of peanut butter mix, and Hershey Kisses. The majority of your time will be unwrapping the Hershey Kisses.
History
These delicious delectables were created in 1957 when Freda Smith in Ohio pressed a Hershey Kiss into a peanut butter cookie for a Pillsbury bake-off contest. Unfortunately, it didn’t win but history was made.
Making Peanut Butter Blossoms
We make these at least once during the holidays, and are always popping up at parties year after year. Unless you’re allergic to peanut butter or hate chocolate (yes some people do!) these make a quick and easy treat to enjoy at your next party.
You can even make these into peanut butter chocolate chip cookies!
Variations:
- You can use different types of chocolate kisses, such as milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate.
- You can add chopped nuts or peanut butter chips to the dough.
- You can dip the cookies in melted chocolate after they have cooled.
Tips:
- For chewier cookies, bake them for a shorter amount of time.
- Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack before storing them in an airtight container.
- Peanut butter blossoms can be frozen for up to 3 months.
