Ingredients

Scale

Handprints

  • White paper
  • Paint in bright colors, like blue, orange, yellow, and pink
  • Paint brush

Flowers

  • Paper straws or wooden dowels (stems)
  • Light green paper (leaves)
  • Glitter paper in coordinating colors of the handprints (hearts)

Card Craft

  • 1 sheet construction paper: mom’s favorite color
  • 1 sheet brown construction paper
  • Glitter paper in same color as mom’s favorite color (or any color)
  • Glue
  • Black marker
  • Scissors

Instructions

Handprints

  1. Paint your child’s hands (or feet) in bright colors and press them onto white paper. Use a paint brush to spread the paint (caution this may tickle!).
  2. Let them dry completely, then cut them out, leaving a small white border.
  3. Set aside.

Flowers

  1. Glue a paper straw to the back of each handprint, about halfway up.
  2. Cut small hearts from glitter paper and glue them at the top of each straw, covering the end.
  3. Cut out leaf shapes from light green paper and glue them to the straws. I cut two leaves per flower. Add more or less as needed.
  4. Set aside to dry.
  5. Repeat with all hand/footprints.

Assembling the Paper Card Craft

  1. Choose a colorful sheet of construction paper for the background. This can be mom’s favorite color or a coordinating color with the flowers.
  2. With the light brown construction paper, draw a pot. This pot will “hold” the flowers. The flower pot should be wide enough for flowers to fit, and only about 1/3 of the paper.
  3. Optional: Cut a large glitter heart to add a message like “We ❤️ Mommy.”
  4. Arrange your flowers on the “mom’s favorite color” background. I used three flowers per flower pot. Place the flower pot over the stems to see if you like the placement. If all looks good glue the flower stems to the construction paper.
  5. Glue the flower pot over the bottom of the flower stems. Let dry before surprising mommy with this craft!
