I organized another Zoom baking day with friends! There was banana bread, molasses cookies, sugar cookies, peanut butter blossoms, and so many more. I wanted to make Milk Bar’s corn cookies, but my ingredients weren’t delivered in time. I stuck with a classic chocolate chip cookie. My corn powder arrived on Monday and I was able to make these corn cookies!
Usually Christmas is filled with family gatherings on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This year, we’ll be celebrating over Zoom. But to keep the Christmas spirit high, my aunt organized boxes of Christmas joy for each family. Included in these boxes are dozens of cookies made by anyone who wanted to bake.
Corn cookies taste just like Milk Bar’s
But seriously. They do. I was surprised because usually at-home baked goods taste similar to the restaurant or bakery you’re trying to mimic. But these? As if I picked them up from Milk Bar in midtown Manhattan. I guess it helps the recipe is from their cookbook…
Heads up, you’re going to need corn flour and corn powder. I found corn flour in my local grocery store, however, I could only find corn powder online.
My contribution to each family’s box was a half dozen chocolate chip cookies and a half dozen corn cookies. It was so hard refraining from eating all the corn cookies, but luckily I made a few extra for us. We ended up making dozens and dozens of cookies. We’ll share what’s in those boxes soon!
