One of my new favorite recipes! To get your homemade, frozen strawberry lemonade margarita, just follow my recipe below for a whole pitcher. These are best enjoyed on hot, humid, summer days when the sun is just approaching golden hour.
The Marquisrita, while a simple, frozen lime margarita, was not the one that inspired the name. Yes, multiple pitchers and time contributed to the named margarita. However, it wasn’t until a hot summer day in July, when the MUTS club congregated at the chicken coop, that the Marquisrita was born. It was on this day, a frozen strawberry lemonade margarita was blended and enjoyed by all.
Making a frozen strawberry lemonade margarita
I was going to make my usual margarita, but I couldn’t find my usual ingredients (frozen limeade) at the store. Then I remembered that one of the M.U.T.S. club members wanted a strawberry margarita, and I thought the frozen lemonade would make a perfect combination. So I swapped the limeade for frozen lemonade, and it turned out great! We enjoyed the day, drank pitchers of margaritas, and reveled in our youth.
Frozen Strawberry Lemonade Margarita
Ingredients
- Ice (enough to fill 3/4 of the blender)
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1/2 can (6 fl oz) of lemonade concentrate
- 1 cup of tequila
- 1/2 cup of Triple sec
Instructions
Fill 3/4 of the blender with ice.
Drop in strawberries and the 1/2 can of lemonade concentrate on top of the ice.
Pour tequila and triple sec into the blender.
Cover your blender.
Blend until you get a red slushy mixture. Make sure all ice and strawberries are well blended. Add more ice or (dare I say) tequila if the blend is too liquidy (add ice) or thick (add tequila).
