  • Total Time: 15 mins
  • Yield: 18-20 Fried Oreos

Ingredients

    • 1/2 a serving of ‘Complete’ Pancake mix (+ water or other ingredients it needs)
    • 20 Oreos
    • Vegetable oil
    • Confectioner’s sugar (optional)

Instructions

    1. Make 1/2 a serving of complete pancake mix according to the directions. We use Aunt Jemima complete buttermilk mix and it calls for 2 cups mix + 1.5 cups of water. So we used 1 cup mix and 3/4 cup of water. Whisk together until smooth. Make a whole batch of pancake mix if you are going to make 40+ Oreos.
    2. Fill a small pot up with oil about 1.5-2 inches from the bottom (Enough for the Oreos to float and not touch the bottom).
    3. Place on medium-high heat. If you have a thermometer, you want to heat the oil to about 300-315 degrees. If you don’t have one, no worries. Wait about 5-10 minutes and drop a little pancake mix in the pot to see what happens. If it starts to fry, then you’re good to go.
    4. Dip Oreos in the batter, covering the cookie on all sides, and place into the heated oil. They should start to fry immediately.
    5. The Oreos only need about 2 mins in the oil, about 1 minute on each side. Be sure to flip after a minute or when you see the sides turning golden brown.
    6. Once golden browned, place on a plate covered with a paper towel to let the excess oil fall off.
    7. Continue with remaining Oreos.
    8. Completely optional, but dust with confectioner’s sugar while they are hot.
    9. Wait 5-10 minutes before eating.
