Some of the most useful things for a parent with a baby are pacifier clips. With our first son, paci clips seemed to be everywhere. With our second kid, I can’t find them anywhere.
A new season of our podcast, Millennial and Pregnant, just launched! That can only mean one thing…we had another baby! With the second kid, it’s not quite like riding a bike, but I was definitely mentally prepared. The sleepless nights still hits pretty hard, but it feels a little easier the second time around. However, with a preschooler running around, we’re operating in a whole new game.
With our first son, it felt like everyone in the world had a baby at that same time. All of his diaper, clothes, and shoe sizes were never in stock. It feels like that trying to find a paci clip. The ones I find just don’t fit the pacifiers we have or they come with pacifiers. Do you know how many pacifiers we already have stored away? Although, I’d bet we’ll go through our inventory at some point. Our son is only a month old and we’ve already lost two! I can account for one that fell behind the counter at the doctor’s office. But the other is long gone somewhere. Hahaha.
Making the Pacifier Clips
Maybe this is a common hack, but I thought, why not make my own pacifier clips? At the end of the day you also save some money, so it’s a win-win.
You only need a few things. It’s important for me to note: we have MAM pacifiers. Check the distributor’s website for compatibility on the silicone rings for other pacifier brands. The site says these rings cover MAM, Gerber Nuk, and RazBaby. What may be a more important detail, is these rings are compatible for button pacifiers (the shape of the ‘handle’ or what you’d hold while placing it in the baby’s mouth).
Lilies and Loafers has affiliate relationships, so we may get a small share of revenue from your purchases. Items are sold by the retailer, not by Lilies and Loafers.
In addition to a pacifier, here’s what you need:
